Let’s Get You Styled!

Same Outfit With Different Styles

Wearing the same dress everyday is boring but keep changing the way it looks is something very fun to do. With an army of dresses you can conquer the world of fashion, not really. All you need to be is Creative and Unique.

This is not necessary that one have to get lots of tees and bundles of pants to look trendy and chic every day. If you have a pair of denim pants and few tee and button up shirts, or some dresses you can rock the look every day just by adding or subtracting the accessories you have. You can easily get a different look every day. It is not even too difficult at all to wear same outfit. We all have plenty of staples in our wardrobes and no one can understand the comfort we get by using these.

My this blog post is a COLLABORATION POST with few of my FELLOW FASHIONISTAS. They are from different age groups (18 to 30). I have asked them to participate into my blog and share their looks while wearing same outfit for different occasions. There are few tips which can give you a quick fix while choosing what to wear every day, without spending much on your wardrobe. I HAVE ALSO PUT TOGETHER MY OWN LOOKS WEARING SAME DRESS IN DIFFERENT WAYS.

ONE BLACK CAMI TOP: THREE LOOKS

A black cami top is the most basic item of clothing known to man, but that doesn’t mean it’s boring. This classic piece can go from day to night and is a wardrobe staple. Here’s how to style it in 3 chic new ways.

DAYTIME
ON VACATIONS
ANNUAL DINNER Or WELCOME PARTY

FIRST LOOK

Black cami top can be seen as a casual piece on it’s on, but there are ways to dress it up to make it appropriate for a day out. We love nothing but a simple cami under a denim shirt pair it with same denim pants. Minimal jewellery can add more elegance in this look and light makeup and a nice bag can make this look perfect for a day out with friends.

SECOND LOOK

First, on a glorious spring day why not wear this cami with a floral skirt and a chiffon muffler can add more beauty into this cami top. A pair of heels looks very stylish under this skirt. Add a cross body bag, sunglasses and a messy bun with minimal makeup and you are ready to explore the world.

THIRD LOOK

You can wear this simple cami top even on your annual dinner or welcome party. Pair it with a light colour straight pants. Wear a long black net shrug over this cami top for a classy look. Add a fancy statement necklace and a silver cuff to make a statement with accessories. Black and silver heels can rock this cami top look. You can also add a clutch and wear black pumps instead of heels.

ONE FLORAL SKIRT: TWO WAYS

Long skirts are my all time favourite. While it’s vacation time or any other get together, I love wearing long skirts most of the time. You can go classic with a white blouse or you can wear vibrant colour for something more unusual. Here I share my looks of wearing one skirt in two different ways.

IN MY FIRST LOOK, I wear my COLORFUL PRINTED SKIRT with a blue chiffon blouse. I added a pair of matching earrings used my scarf to make a BANDANA HEADBAND to make this look funky and minimal makeup on. You can carry a hand bag or clutch with this look and also wear heels to look classy.

IN MY SECOND LOOK, I wore a white cotton half sleeves shirt with this printed skirt. You can tuck in your shirt or make a knot to look classy. Then I added COLORFUL BANGLES to make this look attractive. Messy hair bun is always best with a collar shirt. Plain sandals or khussa are perfect with skirts. One can also wear pumps with this skirt for a casual look. And here I am all set to go and rock this skirt.

FOUZIA’S STYLE

ONE CHIFFON CARDIGAN: THREE LOOKS

The easiest way to wear a CARDIGAN is over straight-leg jeans and a T-shirt or tuck it into high-waisted trousers for a slimmer silhouette. Alternatively, invest in a fine knit version and belt it over a midi skirt.
Simply pair it with a blouse and skinny jeans to look CASUAL and NATURAL. Wear a pair of nude strappy sandals to add a little bit of boho feel to the outfit.
Here are my looks while wearing WHITE FLORAL CARDIGAN.

IN FIRST LOOK, I wore this cardigan over Black t-shirt and a black skinny jeans. This look can be super cute and classic with a BLACK BELT, A BLACK CHOKER AND BLUE HEELS.I choosed blue heels with black and white to make it look very stylish and different.

IN SECOND LOOK, I used a white inner and added a white matching belt with this Cardigan. To make this look more classy and chic I added WHITE SUNGLASSES, MATCHING BANGLES and HOOPS WITH A PONYTAIL.This way to wear is the perfect casual weekend look and one of my favs among all other looks.

IN THIRD LOOK, OK SO THIS WAY TO WEAR MIGHT NOT BE FOR EVERYONE BUT I love how it looks. I have turned this Cardigan backward and tied a knot from backward to make this look very different. To make this look elegant I added a BLACK STATEMENT NECKLACE. With a light makeup and hair bun, here I am ready to spend my day.

ONE BLACK CULOTTES: THREE WAYS

You can wear CULOTTES AND LOOK COOL. The trick to wearing culottes is to pick the right top then treat them like any old pair of pants. You want a fitted shirt that’s cropped or that you can tuck in to balance out the wider silhouette of the pants.
I always like to look at bloggers and street style pics to help me figure out how to pull off a tricky trend. HERE ARE MY FAVOURITE LOOKS ON HOW TO WEAR CULOTTES.

IN MY FIRST LOOK, I wear White ruffled sleeves shirt with black culottes. I added a sliver watch and white sneakers to make it more comfortable. This look is perfect for a college day lunch or a day out with friends.

IN MY SECOND LOOK, I wear the same black culottes with a RED front open BLOUSE and black inner. A red and black floral muffler around the neck is perfect with this look. A messy hair bun and with minimal makeup I am ready to go to my friend’s birthday party.

IN MY THIRD LOOK, I pair this culottes with a chiffon blue blouse with frills on neck and sleeves. Frills add more beauty to simple blouse. To make a trendy look I tucked in my blouse and added a black belt. My look is complete for the day with matching blue sandals and rough curls. You can add accessories like bangles, necklace, sunglasses and carry a hand bag to make a style statement in this black culottes.

CHALLENGE YOURSELF TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX WHEN CREATING OUTFITS BEFORE SHOPPING. You may be surprised at how many hidden combinations are lurking in your closet.
So these are the best ways SHARED BY MY FELLOW FASHIONISTAS to carry one dress in many ways and always make a new look with the same old piece from your wardrobe.

Participatory Culture

Participatory Culture is a culture in which private individuals (the public) do not act as Consumers only but also as Contributors or Producers (Prosumers). A participatory culture is also one in which members believe their contributions matter and feel some degree of social connection with one another.

I have included my three fellow fashionistas as participants and they are from different age groups. Sajal (30), Fouzia (26), Nisha (18).

I incorporated participatory culture into my blog through different social media Apps (Instagram and WhatsApp). I approached these girls and asked them to share their experience regarding all the styling tips.

The overall task based on participatory culture was a really helpful activity as I shared my style tips in collaboration with my fellow fashionistas. It gives participants the opportunity for contribution and leadership regardless of class, race, education, or socioeconomic status. So in this way participatory culture can create a collaborative environment in which individuals can actively participate.

Published by Kiran's Closet

Hi there! I’m KIRAN and welcome to my little corner of internet. I’m a girl inclined towards fancies and fashion, a foodie and with the love for Web design. I have been trying to start up a blog for quite some time now and hopefully this time I will stick to it. [crosses fingers] Instead of whining, complaining, or just be absolutely negative about my current situation/life, I'm going to write about something positive and definitely more interesting. I'm going to be writing about one of the greatest loves of my life which is FASHION. It's what makes me happy, what gets me excited, what inspires me, and what gets me dreaming at all hours of the day. The goal of this blog is to share what I'm currently thinking about in terms of trends, a garment or accessory, street fashion, or something that I have seen on television or a magazine. Also, I would like to share a few fashion tips and creative things that I'm working on, have done, or planning to do!
